距离冲绳本岛尚有六小时航程的志木那岛，是一个远离大城市繁华喧嚣，诸事古朴落后的孤岛。纵使当地百姓安于现状，但是一旦患病还是为了治疗的问题颇费脑筋。此前小岛诊疗所曾有过问诊医师，但因种种问题导致岛民们对医生失去了信心，目前诊所只有护士星野彩佳（柴崎幸饰）与兼职事务员和田一范（筧利夫饰）维持。在村公所民生课长星野正一（小林薰饰）的邀请下，因医疗事故而事业跌入谷底的原东京某大学附属医院的外科医生五岛健助（吉冈秀隆饰）来到志木那岛。性格绵柔的五岛，凭借出色的医术慢慢得到岛民的认可，他也由此推开通往全新人生的大门…… 本片根据山田贵敏的同名漫画改编。。Helen West is a crown prosecutor who cares about people in the criminal justice system and seeks to ensure that justice is done.
