Virgil knows another way to go, ...。叶一龙（马景涛 饰）和秦阿牛（岳跃利 饰）本是情同手足的兄弟，两人于偶然之中得到了一批价值连城的黄金，可是，秦阿牛的贪婪连累叶一龙丢掉了性命，叶一龙的妻子因此发了疯。 一晃眼多年过去，叶一龙的儿子刘寒星（马景涛 饰）已经长大成人，他回到了风起云涌的上海滩，决心为父报仇。在火车上，刘寒星结识了名为田晓晴（周海媚 饰）的女子，两人情投意合，情愫暗生。刘寒星得知曾经的秦阿牛正是如今一手遮天的大亨秦啸天，于是隐姓埋名加入了秦啸天旗下的银行，这一举动引起了秦啸天大儿子秦守成（孙兴 饰）的不满。让刘寒星没有想到的是，温婉善良的田晓晴其实是秦啸天的养女，一段纠葛复杂的爱恨情仇就此展开。。
