北京市文学艺术界联合会、北京市曲艺家协会通过第十五届北京青年相声节系列活动，评选出三对优秀青年相声演员，并让三对演员以传播北京传统文化和中轴线文化为题，分别创作、表演一段有别于传统形式的相声作品。演员走进实景地，让表演与文化景观相融合，让观众聆听北京城的古韵新声。。SUMMONING THE SPIRIT follows Carla (Millie Valdes) and Dean (Reyes) as they decide to escape the hustle of the big city, purchasing a home in the remote forest.
