1949年，饱受战争重创的意大利城市那不勒斯，孤儿卡明和塞莱斯蒂娜相依为命。登上一艘海军舰艇，两个孩子横跨大西洋，前往纽约寻找塞莱斯蒂娜失散已久的姐姐。但是来到陌生的国度，手中的地址没能指引亲人的方向，一场新的冒险又揭开帷幕。本片以费里尼尘封的剧本为底稿，却弱化了“费里尼式”的躁动和怪诞，取而代之的是温馨质朴，仿佛一出传统的意大利三幕歌剧。导演借由两个意大利孩子的眼睛，用新现实主义笔触浸泡童话滤镜，在战后的创伤褶皱中打捞希望的光尘，引领观众穿梭回七十多年前，置身于满是瓦砾的那不勒斯、小世界般的越洋航船和充满了新世界气息的纽约。。《七十二家房客》是上海人民滑稽剧团的看家之作。1958年，杨华生、笑嘻嘻、张樵侬、沈一乐四位老滑稽艺术家以解放前上海底层市民的艰苦生活为素材，写就了轰动一时的《七十二家房客》，从此，“七十二家房客”成了住房狭小的代名词。1978年，王汝刚等当时年轻一代的演员加盟，让《七十二家房客》的现场演出可谓一票难求，也曾进京演出。“三六九”、“炳根”、“二房东”、“小皮匠”这些经典人物，对老一辈上海人可以说是家喻户晓。 2017年新春佳节推出的沪语贺岁剧《七十二家房客》，将原本的舞台作品扩展成8集、每集45分钟的电视剧，在不游离原舞台剧的前提下，将舞台剧里蜻蜓点水的支脉挖掘出来有的扩展，有的延伸，改编并增加了不少人物。所以这次不是简单的翻拍，而是重塑经典。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
