《北方的葬礼》是由发生在村，镇，城不同的三个悲剧组成的故事，相互间有所关联，却又各自代表着一段人生轨迹。 故事由三个发生在北方的悲剧组成，由苍茫雪天而始，至一场葬礼而终。时间岁月，起落沉浮，一同谱写了一首关于青春的哀歌。亲情、爱情、友情，不同的时间，不同的地点，却是同样的悲凉，这究竟只是是黄粱一梦，还是整个时代发出的不屈的回响。。二战末期，一个17岁的小男孩在乡间游荡，他先被苏维埃军队捉获，然后释放，之后又因为穿上一件御寒的德国军装而再次被苏联部队逮捕，被监禁在一个偏僻的兵营，在那里他跟一名年轻的苏联士兵建立起一段不可能的友谊关系。影片展示出导演一贯的主题：心理因素、随意的暴力和独裁政权。。After her training at the police academy, Laura (24) begins her service with the Hamburg riot police.
